About our WordPress websites
Having easy online access to update your own website is very valuable. We encourage business owners to have a website they can edit themselves, as it makes their website so much more responsive and hard working.
Whenever you have a new service or product, a special offer to promote, a new article you've written or press coverage you want to share, you can do this easily and quickly if you can access your own website content. You'll see this advertised as a 'CMS' website (Content Management System), and this describes how it can be easily updated by you. Typically with a CMS system, you pay a monthly subscription to use the service — WordPress, however, is free.
We use WordPress as a content management system on which to build websites as it brings even more benefits. WordPress started out as a 'blogging' platform, but this free software has evolved so much that you can now have a complete website (custom designed, if you want to) built on it.
Why we like WordPress for updateable websites

Using a simple SEO plug-in tool you can add keywords, titles and descriptions to new pages and posts very easily as you write them.

- The costs of set-up, hosting and maintenance are low (£5 a month hosting is usually all that's required, and there's no cost at all for using WordPress).
- A WordPress site can give a very professional finish to a project, quickly, easily and be always up to date.
- WordPress is a free software platform and is not proprietary to the web developer you choose, so if at any time you wanted a different designer or web developer to work on your website (which we stress we hope wouldn't be the case if you work with us!) it is entirely portable. You are not tied to your CMS provider with a WordPress website.
