The Job

Chris Huggett is Director of Ibsons Ltd - a retail store, currently selling Directional fashion menswear - Ibson Mens

Ibson is a new business that launched in 2009 selling menswear with a difference, with both a 'real' boutique and a store online.

The first physical store is located in Stamford Lincolnshire, but they will ship UK and world wide from the online store. There are plans for more stores and fashion ranges in the future.

Ibson offer their customers a range of clothing from exclusive designers that have limited exposure within their region in the store, and by having a website can offer these designs and brands online for customers to buy anytime, from anywhere.

Ibson Menswear online ecommerce store is built on Powa Instant Salesware

Chris launched the Ibson Mens store in 2009 and knew from the outset he also wanted an online store to act as an additional sales channel to the actual shop.

After speaking to Powa directly he realised his design requirements were not met by the standard templates that Powa provides. So on the recommendation of Powa, Chris contacted us to work on a unique design for his Ibson Mens Powa site.

"I had chosen Powa as the best option for the Ibson Mens online store as it's easy to manage, but flexible and complex enough to handle what I wanted it to do in terms of stock management, brands, promotions and all the 'back end' things."

Chris adds:

"But I soon realised my design requirements were outside the scope of the templates that Powa provides so on the recommendation of Powa, I contacted Lucy and Andy to work on a unique design to match with my brand and the look of my shop."

How we worked with Ibson Mens to design and launch the online shop

Because we already had a design reference with the fit out of the physical shop and the company logo, we worked produce an 'online' version of this brand. We designed the website for Ibson Mens to be modern, clean looking, and fashionable so it reflected the brands on sale in the store.

Chris explains what he was looking for in a website design company to work with:

"I gave Powa 2 very simple criteria when I asked for their recommendation of a design partner - One, I wanted to work with a small business that would treat me as an important project and customer. And two, I had a set budget in mind that the website had to be launched for. On both counts I've got exactly what I wanted with Inspired Business Marketing."

He goes on to say,

"What was also so good was that any questions I had were answered in way I could understand them, and at no time was I over whelmed or confused about the process of putting the website together. I think it's very important to understand the mechanics of your own website, especially when you are selling online, and I was carefully spoon-fed this information and encouraged to use Powa myself by Lucy and Andy which was a really good way of working. In fact I almost joke about it, but the process was managed in a way that made me do some of the work myself and learn about my website without me even realising it!"

Chris shares his future plans for the Ibson Mens website

We're now working with Chris every month to add more products and brands to the website, and we're also advising on ongoing marketing to maximise sales opportunities.

We've set up a PPC campaign on Google Adwords to drive focused traffic to the Ibson Men's website, and have also established an email capture system on the website to use for promotions, news and offers.

And Chris doesn't plan to sit still either:

"The online store and website is central to the business - we'll be adding more brands and products to it, and also looking to launch related online shops in the future. I've got some ambitious sales targets and business plans, but am confident the website will be instrumental in us reaching those. Plus having the constant marketing support from Inspired Business Marketing will really help to keep me active with growing the business online. There's never ever a shortage of suggestions of what I can do next!"
